France after the riots; economic & political consequences Bulk of civil disorder seems now to have passed. Direct financial damage is limited. Jury still out on consumer confidence but signs that impact may not be too dramatic Socialists likely losers as Govt response causes further divides Sarkozy likely to gain long-term but hampered by French/German reform fatigue.
