CESR call for evidence on Consolidation of Market Transparency Data

24 March 2006

CESR released a call for evidence on transparency data publication and consolidation. CEBS is among others interested in what common criteria could be developed for trade publication systems to fulfil the publication requirements. This includes questions about the costs and benefits of firms publishing their transparency information in a uniform format as well as the development of various standards.

The call also asks for the market needs and the obstacles for consolidation. CESR is keen to identify the needs of different market participants for consolidated information, especially those market participants who are the likely users of the information

Finally, CESR invites consultees to provide concrete recommendations on what role CESR should play in relation to the different areas of the discussion.

Deadline for comments is 24 April 2006.
An open hearing will be held on 6 April 2006.
