The Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pension Supervisors (CEIOPS) published its Consultation Paper on “Developing CEIOPS´ Medium-Term Work Programme”.
CEIOPS believes that at this stage its work programme should give priority to the development of a satisfactory and appropriately harmonized EU regulatory framework.
Furthermore, CEIOPS is asking:
what the scope of CEIOPS’ standard setting activity should be
in which areas is it most urgent to develop or enhance a common approach across Europe
what role CEIOPS should take in reconciling diverging positions between supervisors
which monitoring tools should CEIOPS adopt.
Deadline for consultation is 10 February 2006.
