It is unacceptable for issuers and the regulator alike that the majority of equity market transactions should be carried out on lightly or unregulated platforms, said AMF chair Jean-Pierre Jouyet.
“It is unacceptable for issuers and the regulator alike that the majority of equity market transactions should be carried out on lightly or unregulated platforms”, AMF chair Jean-Pierre Jouyet said in his introducing remarks. He also called for adjustments to the MiFID Directive.
Jouyet criticised the recent amendments to IAS 39 for not going far enough. "We will continue to make this point to the IASB, which needs to learn the lessons from the crisis", he said.
