Insurance Europe supports the dialogues on insurance regulatory issues between EU and US policymakers, and welcomes the transparency and long-term commitment shown by policymakers on both sides through the recent publication of their "Way Forward" document.
The federation is highly supportive of the efforts by policymakers on both sides of the Atlantic to build understanding and cooperation with the aims of improving the business environment for insurers, making supervision more efficient and enhancing consumer protection.
Insurance Europe is particularly pleased to see that group supervision and the reduction and possible removal of reinsurance collateral requirements are included in the dialogue's objectives. Both topics were highlighted by the federation in its recent position paper as key issues for EU insurers doing business in the US.
Insurance Europe welcomes the inclusion of concrete objectives in the document and looks forward to seeing the detailed project plan for the next five years.
