Insurance Europe welcomes the recognition by the EP that a "one size fits all" approach to insuring man-made and natural disasters across the EU is unfeasible.
In adopting its final own-initiative report on the European Commission’s Green Paper on the insurance of natural and man-made disasters, MEPs have signalled that there is no justification for introducing EU-wide, mandatory cover for such risks.
Insurance Europe supports this view and agrees with the Parliament’s report on the importance of encouraging prevention, raising risk awareness and improving the collection and sharing of data.
