The advice develops ideas on how to gear the new risk-based regime to the nature, scale and complexity of an insurer’s or re-insurer’s risks. CEIOPS has proposed principles under all three Pillars, including on internal models and group supervision.
The first part of the advice deals with the application of the proportionality principle to Pillar I requirements. The second part will deal with its application to Pillars II and III. A final part considers the application of the proportionality principle in the context of internal models and groups.
