The French securities regulator
AMF released its second report on corporate governance and internal control procedures of listed companies. In its previous report, the
AMF issued a set of recommendations to help companies prepare their 2005 reports. This second year of enforcement of the Financial Security Act shows an improvement in disclosure quality, even though the reports' contents still vary to some extent, particularly as regards internal control procedures. Going forward, the situation should improve considerably once the
AMF task force responsible for working on French internal control standards completes its mission at the end of first-half 2006.
