La Libre ran a story about how if the UK didn’t manage to agree a trade deal with the EU it wouldn’t be the end of the world.
The article refers to comments made by Roberto Azevedo, Director-General of the WTO, who states that even though the UK could incur costs and maybe some rigidities, 50% of their trade already is subject to WTO rules. Azevedo supposes that any impact seen would be perfectly manageable. The article also quotes Liam Fox, Secretary of State for International Trade, as saying that the UK would prefer a trade deal with the EU but is not afraid of not having one.
