The Austrian Minister of Agriculture, Andrä Rupprechter, told media that it was unacceptable that the agricultural sector should have to 'pay for Brexit' and that Austria's farmers needed a reliable base of financial support. He expressed caution cautious towards the Commission's suggestion that EU Member States might have to support their farmers with their national budget and added that he was opposed to the idea of re-nationalising the agricultural sector.
