In January 2020 compared with December 2019, the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade increased by 0.6% in the euro area (EA19) and by 0.5% in the EU27, according to estimates from Eurostat.
In December 2019, the retail trade volume decreased by 1.1% in the euro area and by 1.0% in the EU27.
In January 2020 compared with January 2019, the calendar adjusted retail sales index increased by 1.7% in the euro area and by 2.1% in the EU27.
