The Eurogroup met virtually in inclusive format this afternoon. Finance ministers were debriefed on the discussions at the G7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ meeting in Stresa and related ongoing preparations for the G7 Leaders’ Summit.

We reaffirmed our unwavering support for Ukraine and remain strongly committed to helping Ukraine meet its financing needs. The meeting recalled last month’s unanimous decision by all EU member states to direct extraordinary revenues generated by immobilised Russian assets in Europe to the benefit of Ukraine. The discussion among ministers showed appreciation for the constructive engagement with G7 partners in this regard and full support for it to continue.

Finance ministers will consider at their June meeting the need for further discussions following the G7 Summit in Apulia.
