EuropeanIssuers' response to disclosure of non-monetary items

Default: Change to:

EuropeanIssuers is not convinced that new legislative measures would enhance disclosure of non-financial information. On the contrary, there are reasons to believe that regulation could freeze the dynamic development adapted to the needs of companies and their stakeholders in this field.

Any initiative at EU level should take into account the following principles:

- a comply or explain principle should be applied;
- CSR reporting should be fully adapted to an international use;
- CSR information should be coherent with international reporting frameworks or other relevant international references;
- specific approaches for different business sectors should be taken into account; and
- external verification of non-financial information and reporting processes should remain voluntary for companies.
