-Responding to the proposal for a Council Directive to ensue effective taxation of savings income in the form of interest payments within the Community the rapporteur Fernando Pérez Royo proposes that information should be exchanged for all non-resident whether they are natural or legal persons. He also proposes to include all UCITS, but only to the extent that the income is to be considered as deriving from debt claims.
The vote in parliamentary committee on the draft opinion will be on 20 February
