The EBA’s work programme planning exercise is paramount for the implementation of its strategy and the prioritisation of tasks that goes hand in hand with resource allocation. The EBA’s work programme comprises its annual and multi-annual work programmes.
The 2020-2022 multi-annual work programme is defined by the strategic priorities that the EBA has proposed for the forthcoming years, and summarises the main objectives derived from the mandates specified in the regulation and from the relevant EU banking sector legislation.
Each strategic area is complemented by annual work programme activities that detail the tasks to be delivered within the year and the resources needed for that purpose. These provide transparency and accountability to the EBA’s stakeholders, serving to internally link the dayto-day work and processes to strategic areas.
Supporting the deployment of the risk reduction package and the implementation of the global standards in the EU
In 2020, the EBA will focus on six strategic areas:

Support the development of the risk reduction package and the implementation of the global standards in the EU;

Providing efficient methodologies and tools for supervisory convergence and stress testing;

Moving towards an integrated EU data hub and a streamlined reporting framework;

Making AML a real priority for the EU;
