European Parliament - MEPs vote for stronger economic governance in the EU + Video




During the voting session on 10 March 2010, MEPs:
• passed a law to exempt small businesses from certain auditing and accountancy requirements by 445 votes to 196.
• approved a resolution setting out the European Parliament's position on the EU 2020 Project by calling for stronger economic governance.
• passed a motion calling for the Goldstone Report into the conflict between Israel and Palestine to be implemented
• approved a motion on EU relations with Belarus
• called on the EU to develop plans for the introduction of a financial transaction tax by 536 votes to 80.
• passed a resolution urging speedy implementation of the Single Euro Payments Area
• voted for a resolution calling for greater European Parliament involvement in anti-counterfeiting laws
• approved motions setting out the European Parliament's position on changes to customs duties
• voted in favour the annual report on the EU's foreign and security policy and the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.
