ICMA publishes updated version of its SFTR reporting recommendations

This is the eighth update to the public version of the SFTR Guide since its initial release in February 2020.

ICMA has published an updated version of its detailed Recommendations for Reporting under SFTR. Compared to the previous public version, the updated Guide includes 6 new questions and numerous further updates, reflecting new insights as well as additional ESMA guidance, eg regarding the reporting of central bank SFTs in the UK, guidance on the reporting of settlement fails, other Q&As issued by ESMA, as well as statements on the reporting of third-country issuer LEIs from both ESMA and the FCA. A blackline version has been published alongside the Guide itself to provide a complete overview of the recent changes. The SFTR Recommendations will continue to evolve to reflect ongoing discussions within the ERCC’s SFTR Task Force as well as any further requirements published by regulators. New public versions of the Guide will be released periodically. In addition, ICMA members also have access to a range of further best practice documents which complement the Recommendations.
