The consultation is based on a report from the EU's Economic and Financial Committee (EFC), which were endorsed by ECOFIN on 8 October.
The EFC recommends that in the new approach based on the Lamfalussy framework for all financial sectors arrangements should be in line with those already implemented for securities, based on existing inter-institutional agreements, whilst also recognising sectoral specificities. Responses can be sent to the European Commission until 17th November 2002: Markt-C3@cec.eu.int
