CEIOPS main conclusions of Members’ Meeting

The Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors (CEIOPS) held its Members’ Meeting in Frankfurt on 27 October 2005. The meeting discussed numerous key aspects of CEIOPS’ continuing work and reviewed a number of its documents.

After consultation on the second wave of calls for advice of the Solvency II project, the Members’ Meeting approved CEIOPS’ final answers for submission to the Commission. This document mainly addresses Pillar I issues (quantitative financial requirements). The final answers will be available on the CEIOPS’ website together with the comments received as a result of the public consultation and the resolutions on the comments.

The “Draft answers to the European Commission to the third wave of Calls for Advice in the framework of the Solvency II project” were also discussed for finalization. In line with the general approach to transparency set out in the Public Statement on Consultation Practices, CEIOPS will release its draft answers for public consultation when approved, in the near future.
