EP adopts its position on the review of the Financial Conglomerates Directive at first reading

The European Parliament adopted by 642 votes to 18 with 9 abstentions a legislative resolution on the proposal for a Directive of the EP/Council amending Directives 98/78/EC, 2002/87/EC and 2006/48/EC as regards the supplementary supervision of financial entities in a financial conglomerate.
Parliament adopted its position at first reading, under the ordinary legislative procedure. The amendments adopted in plenary are the result of a compromise negotiated between the European Parliament and the Council.
