EAPB warns against over-regulation

In a first reaction to the Commissions’ Communication on Payments the EAPB warns against over-regulation of the payments sector. The Association also rejects any possible liability on the part of banks in case of conflict between customer and seller during an Internet transaction. Furthermore, the limitation of customer liability to 150 Euro in case of credit card loss or theft is regarded as unacceptable as this would practically invite customers to be negligent.
