EPC letter on SEPA progress
09 March 2007
The European Payments Council sent a public letter on the progress of the SEPA Programme to the ECB and the Commission, warning that the delay to the original schedule in the adoption of the Payments Services Directive remains a source of risk, cost and uncertainty to the SEPA programme. The EPC therefore urges all parties involved to complete the process of adoption and transposition as soon as possible.
The EPC is also concerned by the evident lack of commitment and support from public administrations as adopters of the new SEPA instruments.
