On the occasion of the BBA's Annual Fixed Income Conference Richard Britton, Consultant on International Regulatory Matters of ICMA, laid out the history of transparency in the US bond markets. He asks that European regulators allow time for the industry to develop a self-regulatory solution, and to monitor the extent to which it meets public interest objectives before contemplating statutory intervention.
