EP vote on MiFID extension of deadlines

The European Parliament adopted the amendments on the MiFID Directive with regard to certain deadlines Member States. Rapporteur Mrs. Kauppi received unanimous support in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs for an 18-month postponement of the implementation of the EU directive on Markets in Financial Instruments.

The Parliament included a sunset and call-back clause to align the comitology provisions of the MiFID Directive with those already adopted in the Capital Adequacy Directive.
