ESMA updates list of recognised third-country CCPs

ESMA updated its list of recognised central counterparties based in third countries. The update concerns the recognition of six non-EU central counterparties.

ESMA recognised the following entities:

Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC);

Clearing Corporation of India Ltd (CCIL);

Nasdaq Dubai Ltd;

Japan Commodity Clearing House Co., Ltd (JCCH);

BM&FBovespa S.A., Brazil; and

Nodal Clearing LLC, USA.      

The European Markets Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) requires third-country CCPs to be recognised by ESMA in order to operate in the European Union.
