The AMF issued its 2007 report on rating agencies. The AMF’s fourth report deals first with developments, including regulatory changes, in the international environment in which credit rating agencies operate. It also deals with the new External Credit Assessment Institutions (ECAIs) and how the process for recognising them relates to implementation of the Basel II Accord on capital adequacy.
The report then gives a detailed account of CRAs’ role in corporate borrowing, their structure, their business model, their rating process and their relationships with different market participants.
