IAIS strengthens cooperation with the IASB

The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) announced the formation of a new subcommittee to deal with the increasing set of accounting issues and to strengthen its commitment to continued and improved cooperation with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). The newly formed Insurance Contracts Subcommittee will coordinate the IAIS’s position on various IASB projects covering insurance contracts, financial instruments and revenue recognition. It will be in addition to the existing IAIS Accounting Subcommittee, which will continue to deal with the myriad of other accounting issues related to insurance.
