CEA publishes two new Solvency II working papers on Groups. The first document, entitled "Solvency II: How the Group Support Regime works in practice (Case Studies)", has been prepared to help explain through case studies how the group support regime as set out in the European Commission’s proposal for Solvency II would work in practice. In particular the paper demonstrates how, with a given amount of capital, policyholder protection is potentially enhanced by the presence of the group support regime, which provides increased financial strength through the pooling of capital resources across the group.
The second document, entitled "Solvency II: FAQs on Group Supervision & Group Support Regime", seeks to explain how the group support regime will work and sets out the connections between the different issues. There then follows an FAQ document that provides short answers to a series of commonly asked questions.
