After the meeting Schulz said: "Mr Tsipras is battling for European cooperation, not only seeking a solution for Greece. He has my full support." He also stressed the need for a framework for "constructive dialogue and solutions".
Euractiv: Tsipras 'optimistic' to find a 'common solution for a common future'
Speaking to journalists in the European Parliament, Tsipras said that he is 'optimistic' that a “mutually acceptable agreement and compromise for a common future” will be found.
“We have our goals, which is to respect the people's sovereignty in Greece and the clear mandate of our people, and at the same time we respect the rules of the EU,” Tsipras said. “We want to re-correct this framework, not to smash this framework.”
