The issue: tariff-free import quotas from the EU into Norway through the EEA after Brexit. According to some Norwegian politicians, the fact that the United Kingdom is leaving the European Union calls into question certain agreements due to the fact that the United Kingdom was a major power in fisheries and seafood and its departure will unbalance the balance of power. These accusations have been rejected by the Norwegian government, which points out that the EEA represents an agreement with the European Union, regardless of the number of countries that it encompasses: even without the United Kingdom, the EU remains the EU.
