ECOFIN: No final conclusion on Savings Tax

ECOFIN could not find a final conclusion on the Savings Tax Directive. Concerning the tax package ECOFIN reconfirmed the political agreement of January 2003 and reached a broad political confirmation and outstanding issues have been minimized. Nevertheless, one reservation was made on the draft Directives Taxation of Savings, Code of Conduct and Royalties/Interest.

ECOFIN is looking forward to reach a final conclusion before the Spring European Council.
