The Committee visited Brussels for the meetings on 11 July 2017, as part of its continuing scrutiny of the Brexit negotiations.
Topics
The Committee's questions focused on progress in the Brexit negotiations, particularly in the three areas currently under discussion: the rights of UK and EU citizens post-Brexit; the financial settlement between the UK and the EU; and the status of the Irish land border.
The Committee also addressed the wider political context for the negotiations, their likely timing, and the possibility of transitional arrangements in the period immediately after UK withdrawal.
