In a stark ultimatum issued yesterday, Ian Blackford said that nationalist MPs are poised to call for a second independence referendum if Scotland’s demands are not met.
The threat marks an apparent shift from a decision to shelve calls for a second referendum before autumn 2019 which was announced by Nicola Sturgeon, the Scottish first minister, at the SNP’s conference last month.
In a speech to the European Policy Centre think tank in Brussels, Mr Blackford said: “Scotland now stands at a crossroads — there is an isolated, Brexit Britain on the horizon. [...]
