“It’s a heck of a job,” Farage told BBC Radio 4’s Today program. “If we don’t leave [on October 31st] then you can expect to see the Brexit Party’s success last night continue into the next general election.”
The party, launched in February over frustration at the delay to Brexit, had a successful night, with most of the the U.K. results now declared.
With results in Northern Ireland still to come, Farage's party is on course to send 28 MEPs to the European Parliament, having won 32 percent of the vote.
Farage also said the Brexit Party’s strong showing means they should be part of the U.K.’s negotiating team in the Brexit talks.
