According to excerpts of a speech he is expected to deliver to the trade union TUC in Brighton, Corbyn will differentiate his party’s position from the ruling Conservatives, who have pledged to take the U.K. out of the single market.
The “Tory approach to Brexit is to use the process of leaving to … deliver a deregulated free market tax haven on the shores of Europe,” Corbyn will say. He will warn that the government will turn Britain into “a Shangri-La for bosses and bankers but nothing of the kind for everybody else.”
