FT article criticises insufficient consultation process

-The FT criticised the commission for its insufficient consultation and calls for amendments of the proposed directive. “The European Commission has chosen to define market abuse according to its effect on the market rather than the intent of the perpetrator” the FT says. “As a result, an analyst or journalist who inadvertently published misleading information could face criminal charges.”
