ESBG Position Paper on Market Abuse Directive

According to the core elements of the proposed directive this position paper calls for a clear definition of the individual market manipulation offences, the particular market manipulation methods and the corresponding safe harbour provisions. The ESBG also expresses their concerns in regard to the extensive powers of investigation and competences that shall be granted to the competent authority.
