President Barroso sent a letter to Greek Prime Minister Papademos

06 March 2012

Barroso proposed follow-up actions further to their meeting of 29 February. The actions focus on measures to support jobs and growth in Greece.

President Barroso underlined that it is important "to support small businesses and young people; and to remove the bottlenecks in public administration and the financial system that are preventing the structural funds from flowing to where they are needed, holding back growth and job creation".

In order to achieve these goals, the Commission and the Task Force for Greece will work together with the Greek authorities. By 28 March, concrete recommendations will be formulated and deadlines will be set.
