smallbusiness|Europe letter to the Skytte Christoffersen on Prospectus Directive

29 October 2002

-
Based on the feedback received both directly from UK SMEs and via certain SME membership organisations smallbusiness|Europe urges EU member state ministers to take into account the impact of the Prospectuses Directive on smaller quoted companies.

In its letter to the Danish Permanent Representative, the organisation argues that with regard to article 10, annual updating should either be optional or confined to submitting existing documents such as annual financial statements. It should be made manifestly clear that these documents will not need any additional legal verification.

The letter was also copied this letter to Commissioner Bolkestein, Mr Wright, Mr Thebault (Commission), Stewart James (UKREP), Lotte Mollerup (Danish Perm Rep) and Chris Huhne (and other key MEPs).
