ICAEW Conference on Single A Single Capital Market in Europe

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) conference of 9-10 October 2002 was focused on the theme “A Single Capital Market in Europe: Challenges for Global Companies”. The high-level panel of speakers gathered leading international figures from both the accounting profession and regulatory fields. Harvey Pitt, Chairman of US Securities and Exchange Commission addressed members of the Institute. Other speakers included Graham Ward discussing environmental reporting and sustainability, ICAEW President Peter Wyman on Enron, FEE President Goran Tidstrom on an EU wide approach to regulation, and DTI Minister Melanie Johnson MP on the UK Government’s view on a single capital market for Europe.
