The European Federation of Building Societies (EFBS) urges that the voluntary Code of Conduct on home loans agreed upon by the European credit industry in March 2001 to be retained. Responding to the Commission report on mortgage credit prepared by the Forum Group, the
EFBS states that the small cross-border offer of home loans cannot be attributed to any lack of European regulation. „The conclusions reached by the report do not provide any reason for adopting at the European level measures for harmonising the rules on mortgage credit“, Mr Zehnder, Managing Director of the
