EP decided on enhanced procedure on Takeover Directive
The Conference of Presidents decided on 6 March to accord the 'enhanced cooperation procedure' (Rule 162 a - available in the EP Rules of Procedure on the EP internet site) to
ECON for the takeover proposal.
No decision has yet been taken on which articles of the takeover proposal should be for the competence of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee.
The vote in EMAC has therefore been delayed until 23 April and the deadline for amendments has been extended until 2 April. The deadlines and the vote in JURI Committee – presumably 28 April - will remain untouched.
