CESR has issued its draft statement of Consultation Practices (Ref. CESR/01-007b). The statement contains a number of specific commitments relating to who, when and how it will consult. It will contribute to raise transparency in the regulation of European securities markets. In particular,
CESR will seek to target all interested parties, including consumer groups.
CESR would welcome proposals from consultees on the objectives and mechanics for taking this initiative on consultative groups forward including the best ways for an appropriate balance between market players (market participants, consumers, end-users) and nationalities.
